BMWMOA Rally and BikeSharing News

As I have mentioned before, we will be participating in the BMWMOA Rally in Trenton, Ontario, Canada. This year we will be giving out a door prize. Click Here to learn more about our door prize.

I've been hearing from several of our members. Peter, #K259 seems to be working out the final details of his visit to the Isle of Man TT races with Chris and Elaine, #K138 & K139 who are from the Isle of Man. Peter will be traveling over with his son and a new BikeShare member Glen, #K264 of Elkhorn , Wisconsin, USA. Sounds like a great trip. Yeah, I'm jealous....

Dave, #K403, from Medowie, NSW, Australia has ventured over to New Zealand with the help of Nigel and Kitty, #K604 of Amberly New Zealand. I'll have more from Dave on his return. So far it sounds great. Dave is on the look for vintage bike parts.

Thank you for stopping by the BikeShare web page. As you venture around our web page, you will most likely encounter some broken links, missing background images and other "oops". Think of it as "re-modeling". We are working hard to provide a high quality service for our members in Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Scotland, England, Canada and across North America. We now have our online database in place and working. Here members can contact other members for touring advice, to arrange BikeShares or just catch up with old BikeShare friends.

Look around and drop us an E-mail with your thoughts!

Chris and Erin dropped and line to say they are currently staying with Murray and Renate, #K601/602 in New Zealand

Not a bad weekend in the south of the N Island (NZ), with Murray and Renate -- BikeShare friends who we bought the replacement bike from.....

1)  Erin doing some target practice (got 6 out of 8)
2)  Chris driving the skidder -- machine for pulling timber out of the forest
3)  Riding on the beach with Murray, Renate, Erin, and Wacka!
4)  Chris cantering down the surf..... he was later thrown in the water when trying to turn too fast  :-)

Ride safe, ride far, ride often,

The North America "Corporate offices will be closed for the trip to the BMW MOA rally from approximately 7.4.01 until about 8.04.01. E-mails will be downloaded and I will be retrieving messages as I can during the travel adventure

05.28.01

I heard from Chris and Erin on their Ultimate Journey. Chris is on the process of acquiring a BMW F650 similar to Erin's. It seems he has been having some problems with the R100GS. Additionally, there are many advantages to traveling with two motorcycles that are the same when it comes to repairs and spares.

Chris asked for some assistance. He is looking to buy a F650 that is located in California. He is looking for assistance in two areas

  1. Someone to go look at one when he locates it.
  2. Someone to get it to a pre-arranged shipping point in the L.A. area.

I took the liberty of passing along some of the EM addresses of our California members so he could contact them. Any help would be greatly appreciated by Chris and Erin. To EM Chris and Erin, click here

03.26.01

I received an EM from Chris and Erin Ratay. They are on their Ultimate Journey around the world. They are currently (as best we can keep up with them) in Queenstown, New Zealand. While they were there they had their pictures taken with two other members on a BikeShare there. click on the the picture to see another

Phyllis, Bob, Wes, and Marilyn in Queenstown - they're on a TABS borrow from Murray and Renate....

We are thinking this is a record for the most BikeShare members (6) in the same place at the same time south of the equator. This "shatters Ted and Irené Warren's record of 4

Welcome to the new Trans-Atlantic BikeShare web page. We've grown a lot over the years. Now it is time for our page to catch up. Go have a look!

12.29.00
Much of the page is up and in place. Many details such as pictures and logins are not operational as of yet. Stay Tuned!

12.26.00 Trans-Atlantic BikeShare has launched its new page. This includes acquiring the domain www.bikeshareworld.com. This is a significant step forward for "TABS." In the past the TABS page has been focused on promoting the membership. The new page will include a wide range of online services and information for members. This has become important as the members of TABS are a traveling bunch and having access on a world wide level has become very important.
