For about the last year I have been reading about a London area "establishment" known as "The Ace." The Ace Cafe was known as a place where the real riders who liked to do the "Ton" hung out. It was, at that time, a cafe outside of London. London has grown to encircle it. Over time the Ace fell in to disrepair and eventually closed. However, all is not lost as, with the help of enthusiasts and a new investor, it has re-opened.
On my recent BikeShare with Tony Wood, #K100, I visited the Ace. I had already parted with Tony and his bike and was sight seeing in London. I took the tube out to the Ace to pay a visit. I hit it on a week night and therefore it was not terribly busy. That night they were having a car club get together. However, there were still motorcyclist to be found.
I can only imagine the energy the place would have during a British bike get together, or on a Saturday evening during the summer.
If you are going to be in London or passing through, I highly recommend a visit to the Ace.
